About this tour

What to expect

Walking tour of the city’s main attractions with brief explanations of aspects of its history and/or architecture

Entrance at the old Cathedral included

Insights on the main university academic traditions

Tips on best photos, restaurants and other places to visit

At the end you’ll receive a sheet with practical informations

The tour is not about this

This is not one of those tours with only light information about where to have a drink with locals and anecdotal stories about the city.

This is also not an in-depth tour about art history or architecture of the attractions.

Difficulties in Descending?

If you have knee or hip problems that make it difficult to walk down steps, please contact me. I can give you a private tour using an alternative elevator/funicular itinerary.

Please Notice

The entrance inside the university buildings (such as the barroque library) is not included

During the summer Coimbra can be very hot, so be prepared with water, sun protection and comfortable shoes.

In the event of rain, don’t forget some protection as there are no sheltered areas along many parts of the route
